Nina Leshchenko, COO Olkom Group: Reputation has no crisis
Over the past few years, 2020 has certainly become a significant year for the Olkom Group. Renewal of the Group’s top management team, changes in the organizational structure, the launch of three new projects — innovative products that have no analogues among national manufacturers, the opening of an online store selling spray oils and cooperation with marketplaces — and all this in new realities during a pandemic and the economic crisis.

In the conditions of uncertainty, when the rules were changing at lightning speed, it was important to make decisions quickly and clearly, apply new communication tactics, new strategies and completely rethink production and business processes”.
Responsibility to employees and customers
In the very first days of quarantine, a crisis management group was created in the Company in order to respond in time and adapt production processes to all changes that were taking place. For the team, it has become the number one task to comply with all world standards for food safety, health care and ensure the smooth operation of production. During the entire quarantine period, the Company continued to work as usual and fulfill its obligations to employees, partners and customers.
“We made sure that every member of our large family feels protected. Additional protective measures were introduced and all conditions were created for employees to continue working in a safe environment. At the same time, we have kept the wages as much as possible and pay it regardless of how they work — remotely or directly in production. “
In addition, the fundamental position of the Company is to take full responsibility for its product. Throughout the entire territory of the production and logistics complex, as before the appearance of the coronavirus, all sanitary requirements and norms are observed. The Company’s food quality and safety management processes comply with the highest international standards: ISO and HACCP. And production is carried out on equipment where human contact with the product is excluded until the very last stage of production – packaging of packaged products. Therefore, clients and partners of the Olkom Group can always reckon on products of the highest quality.
Responsibility to society
The Olkom Group, as a socially responsible company, feels its responsibility not only to employees, partners and customers, but also to society as a whole, and considers it its duty to support workers in the spheres who are at high risk every day, helping other people.
“We all understand that now has come a very crucial moment when we need to show our own social responsibility. Without further thought, in the very first days of quarantine, we provided free help for doctors and patients of Kiev hospitals in the form of sunflower oil, which is included in the list of essential products. A little later, we provided workers for communal services in the Goloseevsky district with protective respirators. “
Despite the global changes in business and society caused by the coronavirus pandemic, Olkom Group continues to clearly follow its development strategy, invest in production and innovation and offer unique products to its customers.
2020 began with the launch of new projects. In January, brand novelties launched on the Ukrainian market: Vershkove and Selyanske plant-based butter spreads. In February, the Company launched the Healthy Style line of flavored sunflower oils in a convenient aerosol can, which have no analogues among national manufacturers.
“Undoubtedly, the quarantine influenced our ambitious plans. Some processes were slowed down, but none of them were stopped. Now the company continues to transform, work to improve business efficiency and, of course, create new functional food products that are popular with people who care about their health”.
In May, the assortment of the Olkom brand has been enriched with new functional low-trans products – Breakfast Style sandwich margarines. These are “smart” food products based on natural plant oils and fats, high in vitamin E and valuable fatty acids Omega-6, Omega-9.
